  I rent a cottage every summer on honeoye and 4 years ago we rented their boat "the hurricane." I reserved the boat 6 months in advance. Went to pick it up this wkend and it was not the same boat as I remembered. During those four years the boat no longer had a cover for shade. Several of the seats were tore up. Cup holders were missing. I was told something was draining the battery so I need to flip a switch to cut the battery connection at night and turn it back on in the morning. For $275 a day you would think this boat would be in better shape. I can tell you they definitely do not reinvest in their rentals. Considering the amount they charge to rent I'm very surprised and disappointed in this. They are able to do this because they are the only marina on the lake and hold a monopoly for rentals. Do yourself a favor and before you rent a boat, request a recent picture so you don't waste your time. I suggest you rent from a private owner before you ever rent from this marina.
